Uganda police tae kwon-do team moments after exhibiting their defensive skills

The Uganda police team are champions of the inaugural East Africa Police Chief’s Cooperation Games (EAPPCO) that climaxed at the Uganda Christian University, Mukono on Tuesday.

Uganda collected 157 points after bagging 22 gold medals, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Uganda police beat their Rwandan in the football finals to bag gold.

Ugandan team that won 200m men

The Inspector General of Uganda Police Force, Gen Kale Kayihura, who closed the event applauded the Ugandan team for exhibiting the spirit of sportsmanship during the games.

“Those skills in marksmanship should be put to good use to stop criminals,” he said.

Seven countries out of the 13 EAPCCO member states participated in the games held at UCU in Mukono.

Ugandan women team shortly after winning 800m

The games were part of preparations for EAPCCO’s 19th annual general meeting slated for September 17 in Kampala.

The EAPCCO games bring together thirteen member countries of Interpol, although only seven of these participated in inaugural competition.
