Two Members of Parliament representing Persons with Disabilities have been sworn in.
Hon. Hood Katuramu and Hon. William Nokrach representing PWDS for Western and Northern Regions respectively took oaths of allegiance and for Member of Parliament on Tuesday, 29th August 2017 in the Speaker’s Boardroom.
The new legislators swore to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Republic of Uganda and to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
They also swore to give faithful service to Parliament.
In May 2017, the election of the two MPs was nullified by the Court of Appeal after an election petition; subsequently, a by-election was held on 25th July 2017.
The two were elected to represent the two constituencies.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga welcomed the two Members back to the House and asked them to resume work on the Committees which they were previously designated.
