FDC nominates six for party presidency


Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has Monday kicked off nominations for presidential aspirants across the country.

According to a programme released by the Party Electoral Commission last week, the six candidates vying for the opposition party’s top seat will be nominated today, Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday in various districts.

Dan Matsiko is nominated today Monday August 14, 2017 at 11:00am in Bushenyi district.

Byamugisha Moses is also nominated today in Rukungiri district at mid-day.

Gregory Mugisha Muntu Oyera is also nominated today at 1:30pm in Ntungamo district.

The last to be nominated today is Bakubi Lukubira Moses at 3:00pm in Mukono district.

Patrick Amuriat Oboi will be nominated tomorrow, Tuesday in Kumi district at 12:00 noon.

Lastly, Munyagwa Mubarack will be nominated Tuesday at 12:30pm in Kampala district.

Muntu who seeks to retain the party presidency, has been FDC president since 2012.

His supporters have gathered at Jokas Hotel at Namboole in Bweyogerere, in Wakiso District for the event.

Muntu, 58, whose term expires in November, handed over the office to FDC vice president, Alice Alaso, in July.
