Singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone has announced final separation with his wife, Daniella Atim.
In April this year, Daniella dragged Chameleone to Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court and demanded a divorce citing cruelty, drunkenness and torture.
Through her lawyers, Okurut and Company Advocates, Daniella cited an incident in 2013 when Chameleone beat her for no reason.
In her suit, Daniella said Chameleone beats her and the children whenever he returns home drunk.
The couple has four kids; Abba Mayanja, 11, Alfa Mayanja, 8, Alba Mayanja, 4 and Amama Mayanja, 3.
The couple wed on June 7, 2008, at St. James Bbiina, Mutungo, a Kampala suburb years after Chameleone had lost his first love, Dorotia.
Daniella says she sometimes veils herself to cover bruises from Chameleone’s beatings or hides at her friends’ places to escape his wrath.
On Wednesday, Chameleone posted an emotional message on his social media pages announcing the end of his nine-year marriage with Daniella.
How I failed- I regret,
U loved and married me,
No matter what people said,
U believed me and you was my God… https://t.co/aP66mZ9V6Y

“How I failed- I regret, U loved and married me, No matter what people said, U believed me and you was my God blessed-Nothing would ever stop us! I won’t Write, Express or Even Regret every moment we shared. Will always miss you – D>>> I have done enough wrongs than rights!!”
He went on: “I am not the man you sought and I apologize for wasting your time. Thanks Daniella Atim Mayanja, Mama Abba, Mayanja I am glad to be single again, I guess you are too!!! I promise to be a great Father and friend.”
He ended the post with an attachment of a link to the YouTube video for his latest song, Mshambo.
Fans picked it up and spread it like wildlife, a move that prompted the singer to quickly delete the post from his Facebook page.
