Outspoken presidential advisor on media matters, Tamale Mirundi, has lauded the beating and humiliation of Kassanda South MP, Simeo Nsubuga.

On Monday, an angry youth identified as William Ntege aka Kyuma Kya Yesu roughed up Nsubuga at the 24th coronation ceremony of Buganda King in Buwekula county, Mubende district.

While the MC announced the arrival of the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi and other dignitaries, Ntege rushed madly at Nsubuga, grabbed him by the neck and dragged him out of the line threatening to “beat him senseless”.

The angry youth accused Nsubuga of plotting to scrap the presidential age limit and let President Yoweri Museveni stand again in 2021 elections.

Reacting to the incident on Tuesday, Mirundi told Muyanga Lutaaya, the host of NBS “Extra” programme that Nsubuga is foolish and deserved the beating.

Muyanga: What is you take on Kyuma kya Yesu’s attack on Hon. Nsubuga?

Tamale: That man should be beaten and his plantations burnt.

Muyanga: But he is a certified journalist and a former aspirant for the presidency.

Tamale: He is foolish.

Muyanga: What does an attack on Abiriga and Nsubuga about age limits debate mean?

Tamale: That these two are strong and the rest ate weak.

Arua Municipality MP, Ibrahim Abiriga, Kabula county MP, James Kakooza, and Hon Nsubuga have been a target of insults recently for advocating the scrapping of the presidential age limit clause.

They are accused of “copying and pasting” what Privatisation minister, Evelyn Anite, did in Kyankwanzi to land for herself a ministerial position.

While beating Nsubuga yesterday, Ntege said people like him who support the land amendment and age limit bills should be killed.

“Don’t come here pretending. You betrayed our Kabaka,” Ntege added.

It was then that Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama intervened and rescued MP Nsubuga who had started sweating, swallowing hard in a desperate effort to stay alive.

While being restrained by police officers, Ntege shouted back at MP Nsubuga saying people like him and Kafeero Ssekitoleko should be killed for popularising the age limit bill.
