The Nigeria high commission in Uganda and Onduparaka football club have contributed some funds towards medical bills of Express FC defender, Vincent Onyebuchi.
He just had surgery on his injured left leg put on the backburner from Mulago hospital where he was transferred by the club’s chairperson, Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi.
Onduparaka FC donated Shs 550,000 to assist with the operation cost of Onyebuchi.
Onyebuchi was turning out for Uganda’s oldest club Express FC when he fractured his left leg in an abandoned league encounter against Proline FC.
Acting Nigeria High Commissioner in Uganda, Alus Tyoden, who represented by Consular officer, Ojo Olabode on Tuesday afternoon contributed Shs 1.5m towards the complex operation cost for the injured Onyebuchi.
At least Shs25m is needed for the entire operation.
Doctors at Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda or CORSU said the player is not in the right frame of mind to undergo an operation.
After fracturing his leg and being hang out to dry, Onyebuchi suffered soft tissue loss that exposed his fractured fibula bones.
He was expected to undergo surgery to his left leg on Wednesday.
