Police has so far arrested eight people in connection with the murder of PC Charles Oulanya at Kapchorwa Boma grounds on Tuesday.

Sipi regional police spokesperson, Rogers Crispus Taitaka, said the suspects were arrested by officers from Police Flying Squad at Kongowo Guest House located at Tax Park village near the scene of crime.

Stephen Labu, the proprietor of the Guest House said the suspects were; five young men and three young women.

They were picked on Wednesday by plain clothed officers and driven off to Kapchorwa Central Police Station where they were detained.

Angry police chief Kale Kayihura blamed the incident on the laxity of Kapchorwa District police commander, Emily Angomuko, who deployed only four officers to man a whole trade show.

Kayihura accused Angomuko of making his officers vunerable and prone to attacks from criminals.
