The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, has replaced Charles Mutungi, the commandant of the Land Police Protection Unit (LPPU).
Mutungi and his whole land protection unit is accused of conniving with land grabbers across the country.
A Senior Superintendent of Police, Mutungi was replaced with Senior Commissioner, Christine Nanding.
He was then sent for a course at Police College at Bwebajja in Wakiso District.
His replacement Nanding has been the deputy director in the directorate of police legal and human rights.
Martin Okoth-Ochola, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, will head the committee comprising of directors of Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Crime Intelligence and the Commandant of Professional Standards Unit and charged with vetting LPPU officers.
