She Cranes are the new Africa Netball Champions after beating Zambia 67-50 earning the title for the first time in the country’s history.
The ladies also hosts had already won five games in a tournament held in a round robin format at the Lugogo MTN Arena.
She Cranes Coach, Vincent Kiwanuka, made a record for the country by taking the national netball team to even greater heights.
The most vital names on the Ugandan side included; Florence Nanyongo, Lilian Ajio, Desire Obua and Hadijah Nakabuye, among others.
Uganda’s basket queen and She Cranes captain, Peace Proscovia, was the lady of the day scoring 29 goals before she was replaced by Martha Soigi.
The opportunity arose when Malawi beat Botswana 71-39 in an earlier game.
Malawi finished second with dethroned champions Zimbabwe third and the Zambians fourth.
The tournament was graced by Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, and State Minister for Sports, Charles Bakkabilindi.
