Kyadondo race: Museveni seeks votes for Sitenda

NRM's candidate Sitenda Sebalu talks to voters at Mayirikiti in Katadde parish, Kyadondo East Constituency.

President Yoweri Museveni will on Tuesday head to Kyadondo East to canvass votes for the ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] flag bearer, Sitenda Ssebalu.

The ruling party is already doing well in the ongoing by-elections: NRM candidate Joakino Etuuka won the Upper Madi County by-elections.

NRM party Secretary General, Justine Lumumba and treasurer, Rose Namayanja, have been in Kyadondo hunting for votes so Sitenda can secure that seat as well.

Presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, says Museveni who is also the National chairman for the NRM party will tomorrow Tuesday campaign for Sitenda in the Kyadondo East parliamentary by-election.

The NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, is also set to join the yellow team in soliciting support.

Tanga last week told press Sitenda is already at the door way of Parliament and that Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] candidate, Apollo Katinti, is no longer a threat in the race.

According to Tanga, only the independent candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, poses a real threat to Sitenda.

Meanwhile, Bobi and Kantinti have been embroiled in accusations and counteraccusations of defacing posters or fuelling chaos in each other’s camps.

Kyadondo East elections are scheduled for Thursday 29, 2017.
