Former presidential candidate, Kizza-Besigye, on Monday attended the burial of the departed FDC former legislator to the Uganda parliament Hon Peter Omolo.
Omolo who died on Friday was buried today in Agora village, Kamuda Sub County in Soroti District.

Besigye, Mukula share warm embrace
Besigye also attended the burial of Dr. Oumo Okiror, a Ugandan Ambassador to Zambia during Obote II’s regime.
When Obote was overthrown, Okiror fled to join him in Zambia and stayed with him until he died.
When Besigye went to exile after the rigged vote of 2001, he was sheltered by Okiror in Zambia before his return and formation of Reform Agenda.
It was from this idea that FDC was formed.
Okiror was laid to rest in Amuria district, at a ceremony attended by George Michael Mukula, commonly known as Mike Mukula, a ruling party NRM politician, professional pilot, and businessman.
At the event, the opposition and ruling party bigwigs were seen laughing and sharing a hearty hug.
“Warm embrace from @kizzabesigye1 at the burial Ambassador Okiror (rip) in Amuria,” Mukula tweeted.
“Ideologically parallel but Uganda is bigger than all of us,” he added tagging President Museveni and Besigye in the tweet.
Mukula represented Soroti Municipality from 2001 to 2016 in the parliament of Uganda.
He is a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement and served as state minister of health from 2001 to 2006.
