Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] party mobilisation secretary, Ingrid Turinawe, has accused the ruling party of inserting names of crime preventers in the Kyadondo East voters’ register ahead of the by-election.
“We have received information, 4000 crime preventers C/O DPC Kasangati have been added on the Kyadondo East voters’ register,” Ingrid claimed.
She said while FDC’s Apollo Kantinti, Independents Robert Kyagulanyi and Nkunyingi Muwada, among other contestants will start counting their votes from zero, the ruling party, National Resistance Movement candidate, Sitenda Ssebalu, will start from 4000 going onwards.
“Sitenda will start counting from 4001 while other candidates start from 01,” Ingrid said.
This came after she had expressed rage at hooligans who on Wednesday defaced Kantinti’s posters, banners and billboards.
“Defacing and tearing paper posters seem not to have worked well, so you ascended on every banner and billboards. I don’t think it has been cheap,” Ingrid stated.
She challenged the hooligans to “come tear my heart”, swearing that there was “no turning back” for her.
Kantinti told press at the party offices in the constituency that destroying his expensive posters was a cowardly act by musician Bobi Wine who is vying for the same seat.
Kantinti accused Bobi Wine of trying to associate with former presidential candidate, Kizza Besigye, yet he has already endorsed the FDC candidate.
Ingrid added oil to the fire, accusing Bobi Wine of causing sabotage in the by-election.
