Dfcu Bank MD Juma Kisaame said data collection starts tomorrow.

It will aim at both Kampala based entities and those operating from all other parts of Uganda.

“SMEs employ 2.5m Ugandans, including vulnerable groups like women and youth. This is one of the reasons we are sponsoring the survey,” Kisaame  said.

The criteria of joining the list requires a turnover range of Shs360m- Shs25b, having a 3-year audited financial track record and not listed on any stock exchange.

The survey will give business operators opportunity to learn from each other and engage policymakers on their contribution to the economy.
