Red Pepper Publications editor, Ben Byarabaha, on Tuesday appeared at police CID headquarters at Kibuli for an “interview” on stories published about the Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura.

Byarabaha was responding to summons dated June 15 as regards a story titled: “Kayihura rushed to India” which claimed the IGP was very sick and could not even speak.

Isaac Oketcho who signed the letter on behalf of the Director of Criminal Investigations, accuses Byarabaha of “disturbing the peace, quiet and privacy of Kayihura”.

As it later turned out, Kayihura had gone to Turkey on official duties and even produced pictures of himself in Adana city with a Ugandan ambassador.

In 2016, Byarabaha was detained at Kireka SIU headquarters for publishing a picture of former presidential candidate, Amama Mbabazi’s aide, Christopher Aine, who was rumoured to had been killed.
