Police has explained the heightened deployment at the home of Kampala Minister, Beti Olive Namisango Kamya in Lungujja in Rubaga Division.
Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, says they deployed after receiving intelligence that some misguided people with criminal intentions were planning to attack or injure the minister.
“It was therefore prudent to deploy as a deterrent measure but we have also opened a General Enquiry File-GEF to investigate these matters,” said Kayima.
“Whoever will be found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.”
This came after the minister had ordered the eviction of all tricyles called tuk tuks out of Kampala citing wrangling with city taxi operators.
She has since been receiving threatening calls.
