Ragga/Dancehall artiste and former Fire Base Crew vice president, Mark Bugembe aka Buchaman, shocked many when he showed up at a rally organised by opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] at Wampeewo Grounds in Kasangati.
Buchaman went ahead and fired up the rally, performing and dancing excitedly with FDC candidate, Apollo Kantinti, who is standing against the singer’s former boss, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine in the Kyadondo East Constituency by-election.
Buchaman was also quoted hurling some negative remarks against Bobi Wine who he labelled as “a conman”, warning voters against such “weed or ganja talk”.
“Don’t trust him. I know him very well,” Buchaman told voters.
According to Buchaman, it was Bobi Wine who manipulated him and crippled his music career.
Bobi Wine in response told the Kampala Sun he had no time for negativity as he was focused on uplifting the status of the common person.
“My focus is on the plight of the common person. At this point in the race, I have no time for negativity. But if you really want to know, I have no ill-feelings towards him,” he told the Vision Group tabloid.
He added: ““We shared a past but I am now focused on the future which is at a higher platform and which comes with more responsibility.”
Bobi and Buchaman parted ways in 2010 amid allegations of exploitation and greed.
