NWSC takes over Gulu water supply project

National Water and Sewerage Corporation [NWSC] has signed a contract with Welhai International Economic and Technical Cooperative Company Ltd (WIETC) to take on work for the construction of the Gulu Water Supply and Sanitation Project.

The contract signed Friday follows the water supply challenges that have been faced in Gulu area over the last one year.

The project will entail the following; increasing water production capacity from 5,000,000ltrs of water per day to 10,000,000 litres, improving collection and treatment of Sewerage in Gulu, construction of a faecal sludge treatment plant and construction of sanitation facilities for public  spaces among others.

NWSC Managing Director, Eng Silver Mugisha, cautioned the contractor to ensure delivery of timely and quality services as NWSC cannot compromise.

“We shall not hesitate to throw you out if you play games and take things for granted. We need project on time and improve supply reliability to Gulu town more especially during the dry season,” he warned.
