The Minister of State in charge of Luwero Triangle Galabuzi Denis Sozi has called for an urgent revival of the cooperative movement, to enable farmers speak with one voice and to benefit from their produce.

He noted that the absence of cooperatives has given way to the emergence of middlemen who were exploiting farmers.

The Minister was speaking during the opening ceremony of the training of farmers and local leaders from Mpigi district, at the National Farmers Leadership Centre in Kampirigisa.

He noted with concern the high level of exploitation farmers go through in the country occasioned by the middlemen.
