Several people are reported injured after a bus ferrying Tanzanian pilgrims to Namugongo Martyrs shrine tilted off Masaka highway.
Rogers Nandege, the officer in charge of traffic, told Daily Monitor about 27 out pilgrims heading were injured after Falcon Bus, Registration T967-BTA, rolled on its left side between Kyotera and Masaka town.
Nandege cited brake failure as the cause of the accident that happened on Monday evening.
Dr Charles Kajoba of Masaka Regional Referral Hospital, says the victims are being treated for fracture injuries.
The bus was towed to Masaka police station.
The injured were part of the mass of people currently flocking into Uganda for Martyrs Day festivities scheduled for June 3, 2017.
