Buganda Road Court has finally granted bail to four Makerere University students who were arrested for holding an unlawful demonstration early this month demanding the release of Dr. Stella Nyanzi.

Grade one magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu, released Kahigi Edmund, Roy Rugumayo, Hanington Mugarura and Stephen Ariho on bail after they singed a court bond of Shs10m each.

She also gave them a condition of returning to court for hearing of their case next week.

Prosecution says on May 10, 2017 at Buganda Road Court in Kampala, without lawful excuse the four made statements calculated to incite violence against the public.

They four were first detained at Kampala Central Police Station [CPS] and later sent to Luzira prisons to wait for a court hearing.

When they re-appeared on Monday, Kamasanyu denied them bail and instead adjourned the matter to yesterday, Wednesday.

The magistrate asked the students and their lawyer, Isaac Semakadde, to re-apply for bail.
