Fire razes Ivory Plaza in city centre

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at Ivory Plaza in the centre of Kampala city razing shops and restaurants.

The building located behind Pioneer Mall had its entire second floor burnt down before the police fire brigade could intervene.

According to the Officer in Charge of Wilson Road, one ASP Nduhura, the fire started at around 2am consuming a lot of valuable property in boutiques, restaurants, and mobile phone retail shops.

Nduhura believes a cooking appliance, which could have been left unattended, might have caused the fire.
